Dr. Adrian Ruicănescu is Senior Researcher III Entomologist, specialist in the study of the order Coleoptera (Insecta), especially family Buprestidae. Also specialist in invertebrate studies in environment management projects and management of the alien invasive species. Specialist in the order Coleoptera, focusing on faunistic, ecological, and bionomical studies, including:
- Relationships between Buprestidae species with the host plants.
- Ecological study of a population of a species (Capnodis cariosa)(Coleoptera: Buprestidae) installed in a new region in Romania.
- Geographical speciation research in Coleoptera.
- Studies about invertebrates in the biodiversity based projects
- Studies about alien species in Romania.
