Octavian Pacioglu

Octavian Pacioglu is Senior Scientist at Bioinformatics department at the National Institute for Biological Sciences in Bucharest. With formal training as an aquatic ecologist, he spent nearly two decades working for Apele Române and the Emil Racoviță Speleological Institute. Pacioglu earned his Ph.D. at the University of Roehampton (UK), studying the impacts of eutrophication and sediment infilling on hyporheic habitats. He continued with two postdoctoral appointments in Germany and the UK focused on lake ecotoxicology and river food-web dynamics. Since joining INCDSB in 2019, he has played key roles
