Ștefan Laura Mihaela is a biologist and scientific researcher in INCDSB. She has a vast experience in the development of in vitro experimental models on different normal and tumoral cell lines for biological activity evaluation (biocompatibility, anti-proliferative, anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, regenerative and gastroprotective activity) of biomaterials, vegetal extracts and bioactive compounds, development of cell co-cultures and cell-probiotic co-cultures, molecular biology techniques and statistical analyses. She also has expertise in host-parasite interactions, particularly birds-feather mite interactions, at morphological, ecological and evolutionary levels, contributing to the description of new mite species. During her 18 years of research experience, she was project manager of three national projects and disseminated the original results as author/co-author in 45 scientific papers, 1 book chapter, 2 national patents and 54 scientific communications at national and international conferences (h-index 13).
